Open Arms is a free daycare located in La Mision between Rosarito and Ensenada. The daycare seeks to keep families together by giving them an alternative to orphanages and abandoning children while parents are at work. In addition to being a safe place the daycare has weekly children's services, provides a means of income for many Mexican people and reaches out to the surrounding community.
New foundation for a home in La Mision.
Open Arms has built homes and repaired homes for many families in the community. Over the summer we were able to stay for a week to help lay the foundation of a new home for one of the daycare families. In that week we also built a home and helped to frame another. Many of these families live 10 to a house that is 12X12 and only 1 room with outdoor bathroom. Without the help of mission teams and Open Arms they could never realize their dream of having a home of their own to facilitate their family.
SHARING THE GOSPEL - Loving - FEEDING THE HUNGRY - Offering Hope - LIVING THE WORD
Canyon de Sainz
Canyon de Sainz is a small community in the outskirts of Tijuana, Mexico. The church in the canyon, La Iglesia Christiana Evangelica de La Roca Etrerna (The Christian Evangelical Church of The Eternal Rock) is a labor of Love for Pastor Rangel & Wendy (the pastors there) as well as the many people involved in planting the ministry. The church in the canyon is our destination for Spring Break mission trips. The people of the church welcome us into their homes for the entire week and take us in as extended family. It is a truly humbling experience. During spring break we help host a vacation bible school for the kids as well as women's ministry teen ministry and building projects. During the year we take "mini-trips" into the canyon for children's ministry, building projects and food distribution.
